The Griffin Legacy Model

Canberra's development model on show

Visitors to the National Capital Exhibition in Commonwealth Park can see a large scale model incorporating the city's blueprint for the future, the Griffin Legacy, to illustrate what Canberra can look like in the coming decades. The working model will change over time and evolve with the city, by replacing potential with actual development.

By showing areas of potential improvement it will be a valuable tool for planners and the property development industry for planning and marketing.

The Griffin Legacy contains strategic proposals to guide city revitalisation, waterfront development and improve links to parklands and national cultural institutions around Lake Burley Griffin.

The model is on permanent display at the National Capital Exhibition, Commonwealth Park. Open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, Saturday and Sundays from 10am to 4pm, closed Christmas Day and public holidays and open Canberra Day public holiday.
