Amendment 75 was approved by the Minister for Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government, the Hon. Simon Crean MP, on 23 July 2012. Amendment 75 replaces the existing master plan for the Royal Military College Duntroon (RMC) with a master plan for both RMC and the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA).

On 15 November 2012 the Minister for Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government, the Hon Simon Crean MP, in accordance with the Public Roads Act 1902 agreed to the permanent closure of the western section of Russell Drive.

On the 31 of October the National Capital Approved Development Control Plan 12/08. The DCP will guide future planning and development of the site. The site is proposed to be developed into a large scale solar farm.

A report into the suitability of three areas in Canberra for diplomatic use has been released. Land to the south west of Stirling Ridge, in the vicinity of the Old Canberra Brickworks and adjacent to Federal Golf Club were all considered.
