West Basin Precinct Guidelines

The NCA has formulated design guidelines to shape the character and quality of new development as part of the West Basin proposal adjoining Lake Burley Griffin in central Canberra.

The guidelines are intended to ensure a high quality of design and development on the lake’s edge is realised. It is envisaged that a range of people including land managers, developers, government and designers, will use these guidelines as benchmarks for the intended qualities of West Basin.

National Capital Open Space System Review Report

The NCA has released the National Capital Open Space System (NCOSS) review report. The NCA, in consultation with the public and an expert reference panel, set out to review the NCOSS. The review investigated whether the existing planning framework for the NCOSS is appropriate in terms of efficient land use, meeting national sustainability objectives and providing a landscape setting for the National Capital.

The NCOSS review report provides a series of recommendations describing ways to establish a framework for future reviews, greater promotion of the NCOSS, and better engage stakeholders in managing the values of the NCOSS.
