Rose Patronage

As part of the reconstruction of the Old Parliament House Gardens, Australian’s were asked to support this garden of national significance by sponsoring a rose.

In all, 2 308 patrons sponsored 4 222 roses (515 different types) across all four rose gardens.

By sponsoring a rose, the Australian public celebrated or commemorated a special person or occasion. Schools, community groups, garden clubs, city, local and shire councils, families and individuals from places as diverse as Christmas Island to Cabramurra and Hobart responded to this opportunity to become a part of the nation's capital.

Patron’s support is recognised in the Old Parliament House Gardens with small plaques near the sponsored rose/s. No further roses are available for sponsorship.

Should you have any queries about rose patronage please contact the National Capital Authority on 02 6271 2888 or via email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
