Parking Management on National Land |
|
The Australian Government announced, as part of the 2013-14 Budget, that pay parking will be introduced on National Land in Parkes, Barton, Russell and Acton. Pay parking in these areas will commence on 1 July 2014 to assist with ongoing parking management on National Land.

Gatsby style at Regatta Point (Hat Workshop) |

In conjunction with the 1927 iteration of A Capital Collection at the National Capital Exhibition, renowned local milliner Christine Waring will facilitate hat-making workshops. Participants will each create their own hat, based on the 1920’s cloche but very wearable for winter in Canberra.
Saturday 15 June and 13 July from 10am to 2.30pm (b.y.o lunch)
Cost: $100.00 per person (includes all materials)

A Capital Collection – Our History in Fashion |
|
A temporary exhibition showcasing the opening of the provisional Parliament House in 1927 through fashion is now on display at the National Capital Exhibition.
This is the second in a series of exhibitions of 'A Capital Collection – Our History in Fashion' looking at the story of Canberra through fashion. Later exhibitions will be based on the inauguration of Lake Burley Griffin in1964 and the opening of Parliament House in 1988.
On display at the National Capital Exhibition, Barrine Drive, Commonwealth Park until 16 December 2013. The exhibition is free and open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and 10am-4pm weekends. |
