Dreams on Wheels Exhibition
Dreams on Wheels exhibition celebrated cycling culture and innovative Danish bicycle design. 16 bicycles were displayed alongside Danish cityscapes and an Australian urban vision as set out by Danish architect Jan Gehl.
The exhibition was curated by Thomas Ermacora, Founder of Etikstudio, and has previously been shown at the Danish House in Paris, The Danish Design Centre in Copenhagen, and Harbourfront Centre of Toronto.
The concept was driven by the motivation to illustrate how a 'cyclocentric'; approach to urban development stimulates environmental concern and sustainable civic behaviour.
Mixing bicycles and urban design elements, the exhibition aimed to promote cycling in a broader cultural context, displaying Danish cityscapes alongside Australian urban visions by Danish architect Jan Gehl.
Ranging from family friendly to high tech, the bicycles exhibited include the Christiania bike, The Leitra Velomobile, Biomega designer bikes and the unique Mountain Goat.
Also on display was the Danish 'rent-a-bike'; system, allowing you to take a free ride on an original Copenhagen Citybike or to just learn more about how this system works.
