A new vibrant 'Waters Edge'
The Waters Edge restaurant on the shore of Lake Burley Griffin reopens on 10 July with a new tenant.

Award-winning chef James Mussillon, owner of Canberra restaurants Courgette and Sabayon has taken over the lease of Waters Edge restaurant.

The premises located at Commonwealth Place next to the International Flag Display, are owned by the Australian Government and managed by the NCA. [More]

Rond Terraces 'wonder wall' awarded
The Rond Terraces Wall, between Anzac Parade and the Rond Terraces car park, was awarded a Master Builders Association Excellence in Building Award.
The accolade was given for the best civil works project under $1 million.

The new wall is 200 metre long and is one metre lower than the previous barrier opening up the view across Lake Burley Griffin. [More]

Temporary toilet closure
Public amenities next to The Lobby restaurant in the Parliamentary Zone will be temporarily closed until 4 August, while construction works take place.

Visitors to the Parliamentary Zone will be redirected to the amenities located in the nearby Old Parliament House Gardens or kiosks at Commonwealth Place.

The café, which will be closed for the duration of the works, will be remodelled to include a larger dining area.

Bridging of Kings Avenue over Parkes Way
Proposals for a new signalised intersection lowering Parkes Way under Kings Avenue have been submitted for review to the Federal Parliament Joint Standing Committee on Public Works. A hearing is anticipated in August 2008. Subject to the support of the Committee construction will commence in early 2009.

National World War I and World War II Memorials
